George Town Heritage Hotel (GTHH) properties are approximately 36 minutes from the Penang International Airport (PIA) by taxi, airport limo, or Grab (e-hailing service).

3. How do I arrive from the Mainland (KTM Train or Ferry)?

Guests arriving via the KTM ETS train at Butterworth Station can cross to Penang Island by the Penang ferry. The ferry journey takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes and arrives at Raja Tun Uda Ferry Terminal. From the terminal, a 5-minute Grab or taxi ride connects to any GTHH property.

Alternatively, guests may take a Grab directly from Butterworth across the Penang Bridge. Journey time is around 30 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic.

George Town is a highly walkable city. Most major tourist attractions are within easy reach of GTHH properties on foot. A drop-off point is available at the hotel entrance for all e-hailing and taxi services. Grab remains the most reliable choice for quick trips across the city.

For a more traditional experience, Rapid Penang collaborates with the Penang Municipal Council to offer a free bus shuttle known as Central Area Transit (CAT). The CAT loops through the UNESCO World Heritage site, allowing guests to hop on and off at key landmarks.

For island-wide exploration, such as visiting Batu Ferringhi or Kek Lok Si Temple, Rapid Penang’s bus network covers the full island at very low fares. Visit the Rapid Penang website for their journey planner.

5. Is there parking provided by GTHH?

GTHH offers complimentary parking for guests at designated secure lots.
However, parking is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
